Hearing a Big Band live is a thrilling experience. The power and precision of 17 pieces playing in sync behind a vocalist was the defining sound of the Jazz Age. Thanks to the dedication of organizations like the Jazz Arts Group of Fargo/Moorhead and people like Rochelle Roesler, Kyle Mack and many talented musicians, this great musical tradition survives.
The videos on this page were taped during Sony Holland's performance with the Jazz Arts Group Big Band at "the Venue" in Fargo, North Dakota. On that occassion Mayor Dennis Walaker presented Sony with a certificate proclaiming September 19th "Sony Holland Day" in Fargo, ND.
